Wheatland House

• The Malvern House is an addition and renovation to an existing Edwardian style house. The owners, whilst endeared by the houses period charm, desired a relaxed, contemporary family home to raise a young family.

  Located in an intact heritage precinct, the front of the house has been retained and refreshed, while internal spaces have been thoughtfully brought up to date.

  Utilising an ideal northern aspect, a double storey addition at the rear contains new informal living spaces at ground level, opening onto an outdoor entertaining area and pool. Children’s bedrooms are located above, taking advantage of adjacent park views.

  The double storey form, framed with contrasting timber and metal cladding, is punctuated by large windows set deep in to the façade providing solar protection whilst directing views into the backyard and parklands beyond.
