Laver House, the handy work of directors Cameron Neil & Huyen Bui, started out life as a 1930’s Californian Bungalow on a steep inner-city block. The property, having endured multiple alterations over its life, was in need of a holistic master plan to transform the site that would retain the redeeming elements of the house, while making it practical for their family of 5.
A new double story form has been inserted into the existing dense tree canopy containing a parents bedroom on the lower level and a lounge room upstairs. A language of black painted timber and louvred sun shades draws the various elements together.
