• Set within the established native bushland style landscape of Nunawading, Central House is a new contemporary family home which sets out to challenge the suburban brick veneer vernacular. Eschewing the pitched tiled roofs of the surrounding streets, the house presents as a collection of modestly scaled rectilinear forms clad in blackbutt and cedar. A warm, sandy coloured rammed earth wall, punctuated by a series of openings, leads occupants through the house. The rammed earth wall forms the spine of the house extending outside into the backyard framing the swimming pool and landscape.
