Space@QV
The design intent for this project was to develop a narrative that would become the identifying experience of the space. The design concept was to reflect the urban context of this particular gym, employing a graphic language derived from elements evolved from the process, referencing international sign language and graffiti with its flowing forms and dynamic expression. The use of these signifier introduces street culture to the genre of the gymnasium, producing an autonomous, non-hierarchical space that has cross-cultural appeal and gives its members a greater sense of ownership.
